B.S.P.S.AREA 4A ARE HOLDING A FUN DOG SHOW ON JUNE 22nd AT BARLEYFIELDS E.C. TO INCLUDE DRESSAGE SHOW JUMPING AND SHOW CLASSES
THE SCHEDULE WILL BE ON THIER WEBSITE.
AREA 4A HAS CHALLENGED AREA 5 SO ANYONE WITH PERFORMING DOGS PLEASE GET IN TOUCH FOR THE TEAM.

Area 5 Spring Show 2012
I say well done to all of you who braved the awful weather at our show last Sunday. Thank goodness the team at Arena U.K. allowed us to use the indoor facilities!
I must thank all the judges and helpers who carried on regardless we all must be made of good stuff or mad [not sure which!]
Area members did well especially; Henry Barton-Smith who qualified West Leake Sophistication in both the Open Lead Rein and the Pretty Polly Lead Rein for the Royal International.
Joanna Clowes also qualified Tyreds Casanova for the Royal International,both these competitors also qualified for their North of England Championships.
Bea o`Kelly won her novice worker class and went on to be novice champion.
So a big WELL DONE to you all.

Unfortunately Heidi Coy recently broke her wrist - get well soon Heidi! You will soon be back in the saddle.
The Area points cards are colour coded this year - a different colour per pony type/class.
Please send an SAE to either Marilyn or Jenny, or pick up cards from the Area 5 Spring show.
You can collect points at any BSPS affiliated class that runs in Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire. This includes shows running at Newark Showground and Arena UK (but not the BSPS Winter, Summer and Heritage Championship shows).
You don't need many points to receive a placing so please do collect your points and send in your cards.
The points party is great fun!
Don't forget to enter the BSPS classes at your local shows:
- NCPA on Newark showground in April as well as our own show show running at Arena UK (Sunday 29th)
- Newark and Notts and two Area 4b shows in May
- Midland Counties in June will be at Arena UK this year, as will all of the North of England Shows.

2011 Points Party
What a great way to round off the season. A fantastic night out!
Those of you who didn’t submit points this year, please do send your 2012 points and come and join our wonderful party. This year we had a lovely three course Christmas dinner, a change from the usual tasty buffet. Marilyn and the committee usually put together the buffet so with poor Marilyn in plaster thank goodness there had been a change of plan! I hope you’re fixed soon Marilyn. The disco was enjoyed by all and the rosettes were as beautiful as always, and lets not forget lots and lots of super raffle and auction prizes. Many thanks to the members, their family and friends for donations of prizes – you are all super! It was very much appreciated.

BSPS Leading Rider of the Year
Well done to Imogen Sidaway who won the 10 years and under open section. We must also mention her lovely ponies who helped her collect 690 points! Also worth a mention is her mum who remembered to email the points after every show…. some of us weren’t so efficient! Hopefully some area 5 members will be able to attend the AGM on February 4th 2012 to cheer and clap when Imogen collects her prize.
