THREE SHIRES SPRING SHOW (presented by BSPS Area 5)
Despite the weather the show ran really well, entries were a bit down which seems to be the trend
everywhere, and I am sure the weather did not help, as I said to a very wet lady in the office me and
my daughter would have looked out of the window and said no thanks.
Daisy Darby with Bankswood Savior Faire will represent the area in the Best Rider
Isabelle Ellis with Thistledown Ice Warrior is going forward to the Best of the Best.

BSPS AREA 5 WINTER SHOW RESULTS
The worker show was a successful with the winter workers continuing to be popular with a mixed line-up of plaiteds and mountain and moorlands.
In the afternoon we had well attended M & M workers with two lovely championships.
On sunday at the flat show entries were very disappointing, we feel and also competitors did remark that now the plaited classes no longer need to qualify for the BSPS winter championships this has had a negative impact on the area winter shows. Although we were short in quantity there were some lovely quality ponies.

A TRIBUTE TO THE QUEEN FROM THE FELL PONY SOCIETY
Jane Rawen who is one of our Area members organised a Fell pony ride in a tribute to the Queen on
Sunday 18th September, there lots of fell ponies in attendance including 14 from the local area.
Nickie & Harriet Glenn, Danielle Garner with her co-owner Lisa, Lisa & Millie Croft. They rode from
South Clifton to the Church near North Clifton where a short service and blessing was given by the vicar.
Millie rode on a carriage pulled by a Fell, she then presented the vicar with a wreath made locally by Hives Flowers.
They then rode back to South Clifton where there was tea and cakes at Janes afterwards.
T.F.M provided treats for the ponies and Buntys tea room the cake for the riders. There were more than 20 foot followers
with villagers joining along the way. It was a spectacular sight very well organised by Jane.(There are several videos on
face book to look at)
Very well-done Jane from Area 5

Our shows went well the worker show was busy, the new Winter Worker Classes are very popular
with new combinations jumping the heights they want to, and novices being able to go up the heights
as they improve. The flat show was not so busy as usual, Heritage Classes were okay some very nice
novices. the plaited ponies were a bit thin on the ground but several lovely ponies. The biggest
disappointment were the mini classes we put lots on in a smaller ring to keep them safe, but we
had very few ponies. Every on enjoyed the shows we have had lots of completements. |

HIEDI COY & ROYAL FURY WIN INDIVIDUAL AND TEAM SILVER MEDAL
Former Area 5 member Hiedi won these medals at the FEI Junior European Championships in Fontainebleu, France and her double clear rounds
helped the British Team into Silver Medal position. Heidi performed her personal best on the first day in the dressage with a score
of 28.30. Royal Fury was the youngest horse on the squad at just 8 years old. The pair went on to jump a clear in the cross country
in the time limit, which was a long, tough, technical course, and an another clear in the show jumping.
Hiedi was disappointed last year when she was short listed for the team then not picked, so Hiedi wanted to show them they should
have picked her last year.
Hiedi was a member of area 5 from Cradle Stakes through to open workers she was in the England team many times.
On behalf of the area I say a very well done to Hiedi & Royal Fury.
